Hello! Welcome to my biography.

My name is Nathan Dungan, and I'm the founder of what I pray to be an official business one day, Spirit & Sea Media. I've grown up here in sunny San Diego, California, for most of my life. For about eight years our family lived in Southeast Colorado, so there wasn't much going on out there. When God had spared us from a tornado forming just above our house and touching down, we decided it was time to move back to the Golden State. I've always been a beach person and felt at home here, and am not really a mountains person, so while the change was difficult, it was definitely worth it.

I've always grown up in a Christian household, going to church and attending Sunday school, and have began attending youth groups in my early teens. I had a good idea of what the Gospel was about, but I haven't really understood its significance. By the time I was around 13 or 14, once I comprehended the full picture of what the Gospel is, the full extent of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, and saving us from our sins and from eternal damnation, I truly accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. Yeah, I never had a triumphant "Saul-to-Paul" moment like many others have, but we are all different and God has a unique plan for each of us, which is great.

My journey in multimedia began in 2018, when I was leaving church one day, and I looked up at one of the main camera setups that was utilized for recording the main services, worship and other events, and I said to myself, "I want to do that." That's where it all started. Not joking. From a young age I've always been very creative and imaginative, playing with Legos and Playdoh and acting out the most random and bizarre stories my wild brain would come up with, with my younger brother. That's what we did for much of our free time.

As I grew up, my methods for storytelling have changed and evolved, eventually landing on multimedia. I began serving regularly on the media team at church, I was almost entirely self-taught in graphic design / digital art and motion graphics, and over time landed many opportunities for working in these specialized fields, both paid and volunteer, for different churches, events, venues and people as I developed many relationships along the way. And as I became stronger in my faith, so did my desire to use my gifts for the Kingdom of God and creating content glorifying Him outside of the church. And then last year, that's when the concept of Spirit & Sea Media was born.

Where I am now, I fully believe that this is God's calling for my life, and these are the gifts He has given me to live that out. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made, and we each have a role to play in the Great Commission that He has given us, to share the gospel with this dying world that is in desperate need of it.

But yeah, that's about it.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me and my story!
